34 weeks

How far along: 34 weeks

Baby’s size: Cantaloupe, 4 3/4 pounds

Total weight gain / loss: +40.6 😳

Gender: GIRL - love our sweet Adelyn Kay!

Maternity clothes: HA!  I may not even be able to wear Mike's t-shirts any more by the end of this... ;)

Stretch marks: Not yet, but the top of my belly just started itching a few days ago like CRAZY, so it's definitely stretching even if there are no marks yet!

Sleep: Pretty good except the night before last I was up all night with pains, discomfort, heartburn, etc. And now I'm very very sleepyyyy.

Loving: The time off work! Only one week and I already feel like I've been so productive in catching up around the house and getting ready for Adelyn's arrival.  The nursery is adorable and I can't wait to post pictures once it's all ready (soon)!

Loathing: The heartburn is truly the worst symptom - makes me not want to eat and hard to sleep. :(

Missing: A cocktail while I'm by the pool!

Movement: Less big "kicks" lately, but I can feel her little movements so much more often now that she's getting bigger.

Cravings: Milk. Now. Right now actually, please.

Aversions: Nothing in particular but leafy greens have to be choked down a bit.

Labor signs: Nope.

Symptoms: The old ones remain, but some new things this week include one small localized spot on the top left of my belly where I keep getting a pinching or pricking sensation, itching at the whole top of my belly, and achy hips/pelvic area - I believe that would be widening of the hips getting ready for d-day!

Exercise:  Yoga 2x per week and nightly walks on non-yoga days

Belly button: The watched pot that never boils.

Wedding rings: Some days they fit, others not - I have them off right now bc they got stuck on that night and I didn't want it to happen again and me really not be able to get them off!

Mood: You mean when I feel well-rested or when I'm tired?

Husband: Full on nesting mode - he's a work machine!

Can't wait for:  Everything to be ready for baby!

It's a....

GIRL!!

We were so excited to share the news of our sweet baby girl, Adelyn Kay, today with all of our friends and family! My sisters and mom put on the most beautiful shower-- Adelyn is one lucky baby, and I'm one lucky momma!  Thank you a million times over for all the hard work you put into throwing us the most wonderful shower. It brings me to tears (hormones?? 😉) to think of how loved this precious girl is already!

Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate with us! We can't wait for you to meet our sweet girl in August. :)

32 weeks

How far along: 32 weeks

Baby’s size: Coconut, squash, jicama (??), 16.5" and 3.75 pounds

Total weight gain / loss: +38.8 (but I weighed at a different time of day than I normally do, so not sure how consistent that is)

Gender: I'll tell you TOMORROW! :):) Student votes are in, what do you think?

Maternity clothes: Don't know how this belly will still get 2 months worth of bigger!

Stretch marks: Not yet.

Sleep: Pretty good, I'll occasionally wake up in the night to pee or find a more comfortable position.

Loving: I had my students guess the gender, name, and give baby advice as a warm up this week. They were beyond adorable!

Loathing: Comments on how big I am... (Yes, really... Particularly strangers telling me that's how they "know" the gender of the baby, because I'm so big everywhere and not just in the belly).

Missing: I want a cold beer or a fruity summer drink!

Movement: Still loving those big baby moves!

Cravings: Give me milk.

Aversions: Spring mix lettuce.

Labor signs: Nope

Symptoms: Most are the same as previous weeks, but the bottoms of my heels have become numb.. Anyone else ever experience this? My mom thinks it might be related to the swelling.

Exercise:  Yoga once this week - I've been busy getting ready for the shower this weekend and out of town guests, so I've dropped the ball on excercise quite a bit. But cleaning is a pretty good workout when you're 8 months pregnant! :)

Belly button: It's like the watched pot that never boils- still so close to popping but not quite yet!

Wedding rings: I put my engagement ring back on because swelling in my fingers hasn't been so bad.

Mood: Excited - baby shower and gender reveal this weekend!

Husband: Has also been crazy busy finishing stuff up around the house so we're ready for this weekend - our basement renovations are finally complete (the main area anyway), and I'm in love with how it turned out!

Can't wait for:  Do you even have to ask?? TOMORROW!

31 weeks

How far along: 31 weeks

Baby’s size: Coconut, 3 1/3 pounds, 16 inches long

Total weight gain / loss: +35 (down 0.8 from last week -- I'm sure the overall trend will keep working its way up over the next 9 weeks haha!)

Maternity clothes: Couldn't find the maternity swimsuit I left at my mom's when I went over to swim last night... that led to quite the manhunt of anything in their house that I could fit into!  It wasn't easy, but we did it -- I was sweating by the end of all that trying on, so it's probably a good thing I skipped my workout yesterday, wouldn't want to accidentally do 2 in one day ;) ...

Stretch marks: None yet - belly is getting BIG though!

Sleep: Sleeping pretty well, but we are definitely back to at least one wake up per night to pee.

Loving: As weird as it feels, I'm absolutely in love with the big kicks and movements I'm getting more of.

Loathing: Back pain.

Missing: Beer.  Or a sangria.  Ooohhh Sangria....  I'm longing for summer drinks.

Movement: Baby Deal loves to show off BIG moves now!

Cravings: Loving that milk - ice cream will do when milk isn't available!

Aversions: Bananas and fish aren't my favorite things right now - it's not like the sight of them makes me gag or anything though, so just a mild aversion I guess.

Labor signs: Nada.

Symptoms: Back and feet seriously killllll me.  Acid reflux is rough.  Hormones rage.  Swelling is still a problem, but actually hasn't been as bad this week as it was last week.

Exercise:  Still yoga twice a week.  The jogs are getting quite a bit harder and lead to pain afterwards (calf cramps, back pain) - I think I may be needing to stick to walks instead of jogs from here on out.

Belly button: It has seriously got to pop soon.  I can't believe it hasn't (totally) yet, it's so close!

Wedding rings: No longer wearing :(

Mood: I'm great when I'm good, but when I feel sad, I feel SAD.  Lara, is this what it's like to be you?? ;););)

Husband: Got quite a show from baby last night - the kicking and squirming was out of control and we just sat and were mesmerized by my belly for over half an hour.  It was so much fun to see Mike get to watch and how excited he would get by each big move.

Can't wait for:  GENDER REVEAL!  It's killing me!

30 weeks

How far along: 30 weeks (what?!?! how?!?!!)

Baby’s size: Large Cabbage / over 3 pounds / 15.7 inches

Total weight gain / loss: +35.8 (almost positive I remember correctly from this morning)

Maternity clothes: My choices are maternity clothes or Mike's t-shirts.  ;)

Stretch marks: None yet.

Sleep: Meh.  The night pees of first trimester seem to have returned.

Loving: The fact that it's June and that means summer is just around the corner!

Loathing: SOL schedules - the days have been hard and long the last two weeks with altered schedules that often leave us with 3 hour long periods with students, one 28 minute planning period, etc.  That schedule is tough for any teacher, let alone all the pregnant ones in the building.  ;)  Let's just say I know I'm not alone in saying I can't wait to get back to a normal schedule next week!

Missing: Being able to get out of bed or off the couch without significant effort.  Ab muscles pushed up and out of the way by baby = me staying in a position once I'm there.

Movement:  Oh how I love those baby kicks!  There is nothing cooler or sweeter in the world.

Cravings: GIVE ME MORE MILLLLKKKKK

Aversions: It's not an aversion persay, but I'm really not enjoying fish lately.  Or bananas (unless they're mixed in a smoothie or something).

Labor signs: None - and I don't think the Braxton Hicks contractions from last week were actually BH after all.  Perhaps something more like indigestion.... lol

Symptoms: My feet and ankles are so swollen at 30 weeks that I'm scared to know what 40 weeks will look like.  Feet and back are quite achy, especially after standing for long (okay, medium) periods of time.  The acid reflux continues along with my love of milk that soothes it.

Exercise:  Yoga and one run - didn't stay as on top of it this week as I have been.  It's hot and I'm a wuss... :/  Honestly, I think missing two of my runs this week contributed to my lower energy and eventual meltdown of emotions by last night.

Belly button: Still an official innie, but seriously we've got to be DAYS away from the pop!

Wedding rings: It was a good thing I took them off of these sausage fingers when I did...

Mood: Most of the week was good, I had decent energy and was excited to work on nursery stuff in the evenings.  Last night was really hard though - it was just a long day with too many small stressors for a pregnant girl to handle.  :)

Husband: Is being put hard to work - the nursery is really coming together!  He's spending evenings doing things like hanging shelves to make his nesting wife oh so happy.  :)

Can't wait for:  Baby shower, baby shower, baby showerrrrr!!!!!!!!!!! (GENDER REVEAL!)

Baby 2 - 10 weeks

I suppose it’s time to start this - a few weeks later than I did with Adelyn. Sorry sweet baby #2, mama’s a little busier than I was with yo...
